Some feelings are residual: not based on a current reality, but rather a perception and interpretation of reality in response to past experiences.
Most of what I take at face-value to be truth is likely just a projection, an interpretation of "Reality" clouded by my own set of experiences.
Infinite interpretations of reality exist.
It's possible and likely that a lot of the things you think you know, you really don't know.
Both positively and negatively are equally possible ways to interpret the same reality.
Sometimes you gotta check out before you can check in.
(...By that I mean: sometimes you have to give into what you're avoiding (feelings-fear, anger, sadness) before you can actually feel better, to feel like a complete, connected person.)
Everything is how it is, and you are your own person.
There's always another way to see things and interpret reality...though I know how difficult it can be to change your perception.
I used to think that nature was out to get me: afraid of stings and bug bites...As if nature thought much of me at all.
Only now do I realize what an ego-centric point of view that was.

More often than not, what you think you need is only an illusion-something imposed upon you by another person or social structure. Often times, these perceived needs are really just a distraction and are, ultimately, unsatisfying.
There will always be a bigger, faster, "better" option waiting to pull you into a place of discontentment after a perceived need is met.
