I was away from technology for a week-no internet or cell phone reception and had the thought, "Oh, let me call people I don't like to pretend to be somebody that I'm not."
Why? Why would I do that? Life is too short to pretend to be somebody that you're not. Inauthenticity causes anxiety, and repression leads to projection.
I was walking on some rocks along a river with my boyfriend and almost slipped and fell. My boyfriend began to walk closely to keep me from falling, and I said to him, "Can you please give me a little space? I think when you're around it makes me more cautious, and I don't trust myself enough." He laughed at my honesty; I, at a moment of self-awareness.
The weight of the message lingered after the laughter faded:
Sometimes we take less of a risk when we know we have someone on whom we can fall.
Nature is going on all around us.
I alsmost tied my balloon to a branch until I noticed a small spider had set up a web. Nature is going on all around us, and I don't want to be part of a system where "man" comes in and dominates.
Why not take in what's going on around us and adapt accordingly? Or should we build more skyscrapers and bombs and keep saying it's in the name of "good" and "progress" or "freedom"?
